Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pre-sliced hard salami
  • 4 ounces pre-sliced genoa salami
  • 6 ounces Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
  • 6 ounces white cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1 (8 ounce) container fresh mozzarella balls (ciliegine), drained
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup green olives, pitted
  • 1 cup black olives, pitted
  • 1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, quartered, drained

Instructions

  1. Choose a large oval or rectangular serving board.
  2. Arrange hard salami in an inverted U-shape at the top for the skull's cranium.
  3. Layer Swiss cheese below the salami in a curved pattern.
  4. Place clusters of black olives for the eye sockets within the Swiss cheese layer.
  5. Add mozzarella balls around the olives for eye whites.
  6. Position cherry tomatoes on either side of the eyes.
  7. Create upper cheekbones using curved slices of red bell pepper below the tomatoes.
  8. Fill in with white cheddar cheese cubes for facial structure beneath the peppers.
  9. Roll genoa salami slices into rosettes and place beside cheddar cubes for cheeks.
  10. Fill out the lower face with green olives below the cheddar and salami.
  11. Use remaining black olives to fill any gaps in the lower face.
  12. Frame the design with quartered artichoke hearts along the edges.
