  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (for glaze)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon sugar; let sit until foamy.
  2. Add remaining sugar, flour, egg, butter, and salt to the yeast mixture; mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place in a greased bowl to rise for 1 to 1½ hours until doubled.
  5. Prepare cinnamon filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Roll out dough into an 18×12-inch rectangle; spread cinnamon filling on top.
  7. Roll tightly from one long edge; cut into 12 slices.
  8. Place slices in a greased baking pan; let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  10. Prepare glaze by whisking cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla bean paste until smooth.
