- Ground cinnamon & nutmeg
- Lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- For the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cubed butter until coarse crumbs form. Press into the bottom of the pan and bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
- For the apple filling: Combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl. Toss gently.
- For the crumble topping: Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon; cut in cubed butter until coarse crumbs form.
- Pour apple filling over the baked crust and sprinkle crumble topping evenly on top.
- Bake for an additional 40-50 minutes until topping is golden and apples are tender.
- Cool completely on a wire rack (about 2-3 hours) before cutting into bars.
